Monster Truck Show

Of course Hayden had a blast. He loves monster trucks. Emily...well she's still undecided. She'd rather climb up and down on the bench and stair.

This year our friends/neighbors went with us. So, Hayden was excited to have his BFF with him at the show. She loved the trucks too. Maybe Emily will come around to like them next year.

Some day we plan to take them to the big finals in Las Vegas.

The 2nd game went much faster than the 1st.We even had a chance to warm up before the game for 15 minutes and still play 3 innings.

I really didn't know what to expect at the first game, but all the kids did really well! Hayden of course wanted to get the ball every single time, but I had to keep reminding him about rules of sharing.

Our team is the Diamondbacks, we were hoping to be the Giants, but we didn't get it. Maybe next year.

We are on a team with a lot of our friends. He feels comfortable going to play knowing he'll be playing with his friends, especially his best friend Marissa.

SF Giants Spring Training

We have our tickets in hand. We're ready to fly to AZ and see Nana and the SF Giants.

Emily's 1st Birthday

What a great 1st birthday! Thank goodness our backyard was done in time. I had all my friends and family around to celebrate this special day. We played in the water, had a water balloon fight, find the matching ball game, a pinata, food, and most important....CAKE!!! I loved my cake my mommy made me. I had to take a bath to get cleaned off so I could open my presents! Thank you to everyone who was able to make it and thank you to all who sent their birthday wishes.

Pancakes with Santa

What a treat...we got to have pancakes with Santa. Hayden was a little scared at first, but Santa gave him a candy cane and no more issues.

I guess that's all it takes to warm a childs heart, some candy. Scary!!!

We took our pics and had a delicious breakfast, one of Hayden's favorite breakfasts matter of fact. He couldn't stop talking to Santa and showing him his firefighter hat. He told Santa he wanted a monster truck for Christmas...we'll see what Santa brings him.

I love my thumb!
Yes, that's right, I love to suck my thumb if I can't find my pacifier.

So what's new at 5 months....
~I am rolling over from my back to my front.
~I try to arch out of my Bumbo and my bouncer chair.
~I'm eating and loving rice cereal.
~Loving my vegetables, not sure which one's the favorite yet.
~Talking all the time, sticking out tongue and making funny faces, blowing raspberries, and drooling all over the place.
(you'd think she was teething with all the drool)

All in all, she is a happy baby and she loves it when her brother makes her laugh!

1st Notre Dame Game

Dre was super excited! He's a huge Notre Dame fan and he finally got to watch them play in person. Although the game was in CA and not in South Bend, he couldn't have been happier. Well he could've been happier if they would've won. Poor play calling...it was a close game and a good one to boot.

They were in town for Thanksgiving, but we were out of town and only got to visit a short while the day they were going back home. Hayden had a great time playing and hide-n-seek with his cousin and uncle. He can't wait for them to visit again!

Nana Edna loves her grandchildren.
She's sad to see us leave, but we'll get to see her in a month at Christmas.

Hayden's first time golfing was with his Daddy and Great Uncle Eddie.
Yup! He's playing with his new toddler size golf club we bought him. He loves to golf and loves putting the ball close to the hole so he can slide it in. Funny kid!!!
Dre says he's going to take him to the driving range soon.

Hayden getting to see his Great Nana Ida for a 2nd time and Emily meeting her for the first time. I am so glad they had a chance to meet. I wish Nana Ida was able to really hold her, but Emily's just to wiggly.

A stop in Tombstone. I think Dre like it better than Hayden, even though it was Dre's 2nd time there. We didn't have enough time to see a gun show, but we did stop in Benson to visit with the Clarks. It was good to see them again.

MOMMY'S PUMPKIN

We went with our neighbors the Martins. He and his buddy Marissa had a wonderful time trying to ring the doorbell and eating candy!

The first house was bit scary, Eppy put a scary man to answer the door and the kids backed away and decided they didn't want candy after all. Then Eppy came out and all was ok again.

Halloween was a blast this year! Hayden had an awesome time and enjoyed getting all the candy. He was going to be a football player, but he wanted to be a firefighter again. That's ok, he's the one who has to wear the costume.

Emily, of course, fell asleep as we went trick or treating.

Pumpkin Carving Time

Preschool

Preschool/daycare is finally going well. It took about 2 weeks, but he likes being there with his new friends. A 2 year old girl and a 4 year old girl both named Payton, are just enamored by him. The 2 yr. old asked during the first week what his name was and when the teacher told her, Payton said, "He's cute." The 4 yr. old during the first week was the first one to make him smile, laugh, and play without being beside the teacher. Yesterday when I picked him up, they made sure to say bye to each other. So cute!

Emily just sleeps the whole time she's there and wakes up as soon as she hears my voice. When she becomes mobile, she'll love playing in her infant room and friends. She still wakes up with smiles and you can't help but smile back. No new news, but she is still trying to put her whole fist in her mouth. Silly human tricks. I need to get a picture of it.

1st Moive

Here's to our first trip to the movie theater, Hayden and Emily's first. We met our friends the Anderson's to see Up. It was Diego's 2nd time seeing the movie and he was excited to see it with his buddy Hayden. We enjoyed popcorn , M & Ms and apple juice.

Hayden did really well except for about 20 minutes right in the middle when it got a little slow. He really enjoyed the movie and the whole experience. Emily slept through more than half of it. Diego was a movie champ. Can't wait to do it again. Thanks to Chrysti's hubby for taking the picture.

2 Months Old

She loves her bath time now, especially if brother is there to make her laugh.

Just like her friend Chloe in AZ, she too loves to suck on her fist and put her hand in her hair, except that Emily will grab a handful of hair and pull. Sometimes she makes herself cry. We keep telling her, if you pull your hair too hard it'll hurt, but she just doesn't understand yet.
Emily is always really happy right after she wakes up from a nap. She gives us the most beautiful smiles. She also smiles after farts. Just like daddy...farts are funny. She is also Hubba Bubba Jr. Continuously having a mouthful of bubbles like her brother did when he was a baby. Children are just too much fun!

Shaylee had a 5th birthday bowling party. For most of the children, this was their first time bowling. They all had a great time & nobody got hurt.

Emily has found her hand and somethings her finger to suck on. She learned that she can cough. This scared Mommy, 'cause she thought Emily was sick. She isn't, just realizing she can make a new sound.

Hayden has decided to suck his thumb when he's really upset and super tired. UGH. So far this has only happened once and we don't want it to become a habit. We'll be watching this one.

Today we celebrated Elena's, Kevin's, and Mikie's birthdays at Big Kevin's house. It was a swim party/BBQ. We all had a great time and as you can see below...Hayden had a really good time with all of his girlfriends. Emily had a good time as well, even though she slept for most of it.

Em's First Big Trip

Emily's 2 weeks old and already on a big outing. We wanted to take Hayden to the Monterey Bay Aquarium because he deserves it for being cooped up in the house while Mommy gets better from the c-section. Everyone had a wonderful time. The trip up was great, we had sleeping children. The ride home was a different story. It wasn't so bad, we just had to stop a few times to feed her, then to feed us. It just made the ride home a little longer, but well worth it!

Hayden loved the ocean...aka focean. He said he needed his jacket because it was too cold. I love saying I'm cold in the middle of summer.

Emily's first bath started out ok.....then
she realized she wasn't having a good time.

We didn't go out for a fireworks show, but Daddy bought some fireworks so Hayden wouldn't miss out. They weren't the best, but better than nothing. Mommy and Emily sat out of the way ans the smoke.
Daddy took me up the tall ladder so I can see the big firework show at the waterpark down the way.

He started out crying and ended the lesson crying, even with mommy out of sight.
Hopefully the next lesson will go better. If it's anything like last year's swim lesson, he'll be crying during the next lesson as well, probably cry during all 10 lesson.

The day before Easter, Mom and Dad took me to an Easter Fair and I decorated an egg cookie, jumped in a bounce house, collected eggs with candy, colored an Easter bag, and held bunny. It was so soft and fuzzy. I didn't to ride the pony because the line was super long and I didn't get to take my picture with the Easter Bunny because he was on break. Oh well, I still had a great time.

First we went to Grandpa and Grandma's house in the mountains for the annual Easter Celebration with their neighbors. I found lots of eggs filled with candy. It was so much fun and a beautiful day.

After Grandpa's, we went to Auntie Diane's house where there was lots of family. My cousins, aunts, and uncles from in town and my cousins and uncle from Sacramento.

I think I like strawberries now, but if you ask me tomorrow I might not like them anymore. I like to change my mind a lot on food. I just try to make it hard for my parents to figure out what they are going to feed me for dinner. hee hee hee

I was able to take another tractor ride with Grandpa. TRACTORS ARE SOOOO COOL! At grandpa's house I got to drive the big tractor and make the big bucket go up and down. I even scooped up dirt and dumped right out again. That weekend was so much fun!

Mikayla's 4th Birthday

Today was Lala's 4th birthday. Tonight's we celebrate on the actual day and on Sat., we celebrate at Pump it Up. Yummmm...special treat twice in one week!

We enjoyed a yummy dinner at Kelly's house then everyone, her family, came over so we could sing to her and wish her a happy birthday. Kendall helped to blow out the candles. It was a great evening with friends!

BIRTHDAY PARTY---YEAH! I actually liked Pump it Up this time. The other times I went I was a little scared. I only wanted to go down the slide with mommy, but this time daddy went and we played on everything. Mommy's prego so she would've had a hard time playing with me, but she watched and took pictures. It was soooooo much fun!!!

Jack's 1st Birthday

Hayden says, "I'm a good cook!" He likes playing with cooking stuff rather than his new toys he got for Christmas.

Grandma and Grandpa came over the celebrate Christmas morning before Dadda went to work. I really racked up lots of gifts, I'm not sure which one to play with first. I had a great time opening the gifts. Tearing the paper was so cool!!!

Gunkle Dale and Auntie Age come over for a weekend visit. They gave me the coolest gift, a wagon that's like a dump truck. I can make a mess all over the house and it's so much fun!

Nana Edna gave me a laughing Halloween bear. I love it, especially when it laughs!

We went to get pumpkins to carve and pumpkins for mom to take to school for her students. I loved riding in the wagon with all the little pumpkins!

Dad's Derby

Went to watch Dad do his last derby for the season. Oh, wow! They were hitting so hard I almost couldn't watch, thank goodness for Grandpa, Gunkle, and Auntie. Dad's car lost his driveline, so he didn't win. Maybe next season. :)

Movie Night

Mom and I met Chrysti and Diego at Fulton Plaza Water Tower for Movies in the park. We made it to the last one of the year. They were playing Cars, one of my favorite movies. If we would have gotten there early, mom could've got me a glow-in-the-dark necklace, but they were out by the time we arrived. It was so crazy because there were so many people. I made sure to stay by Mom so I wouldn't get lost or stolen.

Gunkle Gets Married

Dale and Adrienne got married on August 30, 2008 at a nice backyard wedding. Everyone had a wonderful time and the wedding was beautiful, just like the bride. She looked very elegant. They asked if Hayden could be the ring bearer and of course we were excited, but Hayden got a little stage fright during the wedding. Thank goodness for one of the flower girls, Kendall, because she was able to get two jobs done while looking very cute. Andre was also in the wedding and looked oh so handsome! He always looks great in a tux; we need to find more events where a tux is required. Maybe in our old age some will turn up, until then I'll have to resort to looking at photos. hee hee hee!

My birthday was so much fun! We went to the park, played on the structure, ran through the sprinklers, and threw frisbees. Of course, today had to be the hottest day of May when all the other weekends were beautiful. Anyway, everyone still had a great time. My favorite part was eating and destroying my birthday cake!

We drove to San Jose for the weekend because Uncle Dale was graduating from the Santa Clara Correctional Academy. It was so good to see everyone again. I was able to sit and hang with my bud, Kendall. Then I got to chill with Daddy's buddy Glenn. What a great weekend!!!

I am so silly and Mom and Dad think so too. I had a piece of turkey in my mouth and it looks super funny. I was trying to act cool with my hat backwards and all.

This is my Easter basket from Nana Edna and my parents. I got to open them before going to Auntie's house. little did we know that Auntie D just hurt herself play a game and as soon as we arrived, she was being rushed to urgent care.

Here we are, the whole family. I was way too concerned with the eggs. I couldn't wake to put them in my mouth. As you will notice in others pics, that's exactly where they went.

You will notice that her leg is elevated because urgent care said she badly sprained some ligaments in her left leg. She has to go to the doctor again on Tuesday. Poor Auntie...good thing it wasn't worse!

Pre-Easter Brunch

We went to Auntie Pats and Uncle Rich's house for a brunch the day before Easter. Grandma Annette and Great Grandpa Gendreau were down from Oregon. I also got to meet lots of my cousins. Little did I know that this day and Easter would be the only times I would get to hang out with my Great Grandpa. He is such a wonderful man who led a long life.
